Takeover 2018: Finding Home, Finding Hope

Join internationally renowned House Gospel Choir at their monthly open rehearsals! is a devised show made by young people that maps the changing landscape of London and the effects of gentrification.  As planning permission is granted for another block of luxury apartments to go up and a local estate is threatened with demolition, a group of young people from Tower Hamlets come together to protest against housing inequalities in the area. As we see flashes into the homes and lives of these young people, this show questions what it means to feel at home and like you belong in a city that is growing for the few and not the many. As the group works together to protest and create change in their area, they find friendship, strength, resilience and power through each other. They prove that our ability to hope, to imagine and enact a better future with others is our greatest asset for change.
